What is Jwalanam?

Jwalanam is a bi-lingual interactive portal in Malayalam and English languages, for the promotion of literature and art.

Do I need to pay for using Jwalanam?

No, it is absolutely free for users.

How do I register?

  • Click on Register tab at the right top end of Jwalanam page
  • Fill in your details and click on “Complete Sign up” tab
  • Remember to enter your user name as a single word
  • Check your given email inbox for the link to confirm your email id and to activate your account

How do I login?

  • Once your account is activated, click on “Login tab” on the right top of Jwalanam page
  • Enter your user name and password to log in

How do I upload my profile picture/cover image?

  • Login as above
  • Once logged in, you will find an “Avatar” sign on the top bar of the Jwalanam page. Mouse-over on this image or click on the “down arrow button” next to it. A drop down menu will appear. Click on “Profile”.
  • Click on “Change Profile Photo”. Scroll down and click on “Select your file”. Select image which you want to upload.
  • Crop the picture as you like it and then click on crop image to complete picture upload.

How do I edit my profile information?

  • Click on “Edit” tab in your Profile page to edit your personal information.
  • Once editing is complete, click on “Save changes” tab.

How do I upload Blogs?

  • Posting blogs in Jwalanam is very simple.
  • For posting blogs, you need to log in first.
  • Once logged in, you will be taken to your personal page. Click on “Post Article” icon and then “Post New Article” tab and start posting your blogs. Alternatively, click on the “Post Articles” tab next to “Our Advisers” and then “Post New Articles” tab.
  • Enter Title, select Category and Sub Category, type or copy paste the blog in the given box (“Article content”), upload an image if you would like to. English content can be keyed in directly to the Article content box. Malayalam blogs will need to copy-pasted, after typing it out using any of the English to Malayalam word translation/converter tool available online. Check/click on the “save and post it for review” box and click on “Save” button to submit.
  • Blogs are published after moderation and this happens within a reasonable time.

How do I edit my blogs?

  • In your profile page, click on “Articles” icon
  • Click on “Published” or “Under Review” tab and then select the blog you want to edit.
  • Once editing is completed, check the “save and post it for review” box and then click on save button to submit for moderation.
  • Blogs under all the given categories (Blogs, Food & Fashion Street and Generation Next) can be posted as above. Remember to select the right category.

What is the page Food & Fashion meant for?

  • In this page, users can publish articles related to food and fashion. Be it articles on food, cooking, recipes, fashion trend, etc.
  • Uploading articles in the page (category) is in similar way as uploading Blogs as above.

What is the page Generation Next meant for?

  • In this page, children below the age group of 18 years can publish their creatives. .
  • Uploading articles in the page (category) is in similar way as uploading Blogs as above.

How do I upload drawing/painting/craft?

  • Go to profile page and select “Articles”
  • Click on “New Article” tab
  • Enter Tile, select Category as Blog and sub category as “Art” (If you are below 18 years of age, select category as “Generation Next” and sub category as “Drawing/Painting”). Enter description of your creative in the “Article content” box. Upload image. Check the “save and post it for review” box and then click on save button to submit for moderation.

How do I upload photos/movies?

  • Go to your Profile
  •  Select “Media” icon under your profile picture
  • Click on “Photos” or “Video” tab to upload respective media

How do I upload an Event:

  • Go to your Profile
  • Select “Events” icon
  •  Click on “Edit/Add New” and then click on “Add New” tab
  • Fill in details in the given form and upload image
  • Click on “Submit Event” button

How do I edit my event:

  • Go to your profile page
  •  Click on “My Events” tab to edit your event
  •  Save and submit once editing is completed

How do I create a Group and what is it’s purpose?

  • Click on the “Menu” button on the home page
  • Select “Groups” from the drop down menu
  • Click on “Create a Group” link. Once your Group is created, you can invite your friends and associates to join your Group. You can use the “Forum” within this group for interactions with your Group members.
