Black Forest Cake

black forest is the most popular birthday cakes in india and which is also one of the favorites amongst kids.This cake incredibly gorgeous and very difficult to make at home.

  • 2 tbsp Icing Sugar / Powdered Sugar
  • 50 g Milk Chocolate
  • 100 g Butter
  • 175 g Maida (Flour)
  • 3-4 heaped tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tbsp Soda Bicarbonate
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1(400g) tin NESTLÉ MILKMAID Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 small tin Tinned Cherries
  • 200 g Fresh Cream
  • 200 ml Aerated Soda


  1. First Grease baking tin of an "8” diameter and dust it with flour.

  2. Pre heat the oven to 1800 C.

  3. Sieve together maida, baking powder,cocoa powder and soda bicarbonate.

  4. Soften butter,don't melt it and add nestle milkmaid Sweetened Condensed Milk.Then beat well.

  5. Add the vanilla essence.

  6. Add maida mixture and aerated soda alternately to the batter.

  7. Pour the batter into the baking tin.

  8. bake it in the preheated oven till the tooth pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

  9. it takes around 40-50 minutes.

  10. After that Remove from oven, cool for a while.

  11. Loosen sides of cake, using a knife if necessary.

  12. Turnout over a wire rack or plate and cool slightly before cutting horizontally into two.

  13. Drain & destone cherries, soak with cherry syrup on both cake halves .

  14. Whip cream and sugar till light and fluffy, Sandwich the two layers of cake with whipped cream and chopped cherries. 

  15. Top with whipped cream and cherries, sprinkle generously with grated chocolate. Chill and serve.
