Chicken and Rice

Hainanese chicken rice is a dish adapted from early Chinese immigrants originally from Hainan province in southern China. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore.

  • 1.5 cups Cooked rice
  • 1/2 - 3/4 cups Boiled/Roasted/Grilled Chicken
  • 1 medium Onion (chopped)
  • 1 piece Garlic (crushed)
  • 1/2 cup Carrot julienned
  • 2 -3 tbsp Peas
  • 10 gm Butter
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  • Oil
  • Salt & Pepper


  1. Heat oil in a wide pan. Add chopped onion and crushed garlic. Cook till it begins to brown, no need to brown it. Add julienned carrot and green peas. Cook till it's done. Add chicken pieces, salt and pepper. Mix well. Add cooked rice and gently mix everything. Add butter and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well. Serve hot
