Kothu parotta

kothu parotta is a popular street food from india. They make it so quickly. You can use scissors or knife to chop them into pieces.

  • 2 frozen parotta
  • 1 big Onion
  • 1 big Capsicum
  • 3 pods Garlic
  • 1 piece Ginger (optional)
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 3 tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp sambar powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp chilli sauce or Tomato sauce
  • salt as needed
  • 2 tbsp Spring onion (optional)
  • 2 tbsp grated Carrot (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil


  1. Cut parotta into medium sized shapes.

  2. chop onions into chunks and capsicum sliced into thin strips.

  3. crush both garlic and finely chop the ginger.

  4. chop coriander leaves with the stem and slit the green chillies.

  5. heat oil in a pan and add the crushed garlic.

  6. when it turns golden brown add chopped ginger.fry it.

  7. add onion and fry it, then add capsicum,chillies and coriander leaves.

  8. fry it in a high flame.

  9. add mentioned powders then sprinkle some salt.

  10. Add the sauce.

  11. with the minimum flame make sure that the ingredients are evenly coated.

  12. Now add parotta pieces and mix well.Then garnish with coriander leaves,spring onion,carrot and then stir.
