Red Fish Curry

Kerala Fish curry cooked in red chilly, spices and well flavored with cocum. It is the typical Kottayam style red fish curry

Ingredients

  • 1 kg King Fish
  • Coconut oil accordingly
  • 5 Small onion
  • 1 pode Garlic
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • a pinch Fenugreek
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 3 tbsp Chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup Scraped coconut
  • 4 pieces Cocum
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan & splutter mustard seeds & fenugreek. Saute Ground ginger & garlic. Add curry leaves also

  2. Make a paste with chilli, coriander & turmeric powder & add it.Grind the coconut with 3-4 small onion & little water.Add ground coconut when oil starts appearing. Mix well & stir for 3-4 minutes.

  3. Add cocum,salt & fish. Pour required water & cook. Once the fish is done add oil & take off from gas. Garnish with curry leaves.
