Roasted Coconut Masala Beef Fry

Beef fry, flavoured with black pepper, curry leaves, coconut bits and coconut oil is very Delicious. It is the most flavoured recipe in india , and Indian Cuisine too.

Ingredients

  • 500 gms Beef (cut into bite size cubes)
  • 1.5 - 2 tsp Chilli powder
  • 2 - 2.5 tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 2 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 - 1.5 tsp Ginger & garlic each crushed/grated
  • 1 tsp Pepper powder
  • Coconut oil
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves

To roast and grind

  • ½ - ¾ cup Grated coconut
  • ½ tsp Whole black pepper
  • ½ tsp Fennel seeds (perumjeerakam)
  • ¼ tsp Fenugreek seeds (uluva)
  • 4 Cardamom
  • 5 Cloves
  • Cinnamon a small piece
  • 10-12 sliced Small/pearl onion

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and roast the ingredients listed below 'to roast and grind' untill it becomes golden brown in colour. 

  2. Let it cool. Grind it to a fine powder without adding water.

  3. Marinate the cleaned beef with chilli, coriander, turmeric powder, chopped onion, ginger, garlic,curry leaves and salt. 

  4. Add ¼ cup water to this and pressure cook till beef is done.

  5.  If there is excess water, cook till it dries completely.

  6. Heat oil in a pan and add the cooked beef, stir for a few mins.

  7. Add the ground masala.

  8.  Add curry leaves and mix well. Cook till the beef is roasted well and the roasted powder starts separating from the beef. 

  9. Add pepper powder and mix well. Remove from fire and serve hot with rice/parotta.
